My Stupid Life
Hi, I'm Annie. I'm an artist currently pursuing an MFA in Visual Development for animation. I'm a bunch of other stuff too, but all you need to know is that here I shall post works in progress, ramblings, and stuff I like.pages

Waiting for paint to dry on my current project. Quite exciting. (Taken with Instagram at Grandpa Bunny’s House)
I collaged on top of a couple of sketchbook covers over the weekend. Certainly was a fun distraction from my actual homework. The “five thousand mistakes” is from Kim Nicolaides’s The Natural Way to Draw. “The sooner you make your first five thousand mistakes, the sooner you will be able to correct them.” Pretty good reminder for a sketchbook, eh?
Super excited about almost finishing my latest project- scenic paintings for The Velveteen Rabbit puppet show! My Mary Blair doll looks on to the final scene. Just a few more final touches to go and I will have one less thing on my plate, woohoo!

Sketchy doodlyoos and paint thingos.
I finished some little paintings representing activities during the week (school, work, etc.). This is the drawing for my favorite time - LEISURE TIME. Flamepig and Michael Bulldog at the movies.
Made this painting in my sketchbook today after Michael planted this idea in my head. Just thought the idea of my little bulldog friend stretching to reach the door knob with one hand and a little briefcase in the other was too adorable.
(Very) late night entry for Illustration Friday: Artificial. Robot Puppeteer!
Man, I’m tired. It has been a looooooong week. Just wanted to see if I could crank something out for this week’s theme.
Watch me paint!
I’ve had these little 3”x3” canvases for a while now and it’s taken me forever to hunker down for a painting session with them. The nice thing about the size is you can finish a painting in one day and it makes you feel really accomplished, hehe. So here is hopefully the first in a series of tiny paintings done just for fun.
Also, because I am in love with stop-motion animation, I decided to make a time-lapse movie. Paintings take so long to do but when they’re done I almost have no memory of having painted it because I’m just so excited to have finished. At some point I nudged the camera and it lost focus, but it was an interesting experiment anyway. The next one will be better, for sure.
This is the first roll drop I painted for the show, Anansi the Spider, produced by The Puppet Company.
I had some fun researching Ashanti stools and containers. The symbols on the vases are Adinkra symbols mean “GYE NYAME” - supremacy of God, and “ANANSE NTONTAN” - spider’s web. Also, the containers in the back are Ashanti Kuduo vessels, one with a crocodile on top. Neato stuff.
